Updated March 8, 2023, by Branden Lizardi: Keeping true to its reputation, Skyrim has been released on quite a number of platforms at this point. From paired sibling blades to a vampire's best friend, here are the best unique swords in all of Skyrim. This list will guide you through which swords you need to collect right away and maybe show you a few swords you didn't even know existed. There are so many unique swords in Skyrim that deciding which ones to search for first can be a daunting task. RELATED: Skyrim: Locations We'd Love To Experience All Over Again ![]() When in doubt, you can always pull out one of your trusty and reliable swords to slice straight through your foes. If I wasn't manually patching the conflicts, I would use LOOT as it's too much of a pain in the neck to try and juggle 1500+ plugins in my brain to figure out a manually-set load order scheme.Skyrim has so many different ways to damage enemies that it can be hard to decide which method to use. I personally don't use LOOT and I don't put any effort into plugin load order except when I need to do it to manage BSA file conflicts, but I also manually patch 100% of conflicts. The same goes, for example, for conflicts between sound mods and weapon stats mods, or conflicts between NPC face overhauls, NPC equipment overhauls, NPC AI overhauls, and so forth. Several different types of mods (music, water, lighting) all edit different parts of your top-level cell records, and the only way to not lose features when they conflict is through patching. *Note that if you don't make some sort of conflict resolution patches, there are certain conflicts that cannot be fixed with load order management alone. I guess you don't need LOOT? But you're going to have a frustrating experience and after you get sick of it then you need LOOT for your next playthrough. If you aren't planning on doing any kind of conflict resolution then. Doing load order off the cuff for a large mod load is just begging for you to forget about a warning on some mod's Nexus page or overlook an order-of-operations conflict that'll break your game. If you have a large mod load and haven't planned out your load order in advanced, then you need LOOT. If you have a small mod load, or if you've taken the time to plan out your load order as you've been building your setup (and you have a good enough understanding of how the mods are structured to avoid game breaking conflicts), and you are going to put in the time to manually arrange your plugin load order, then you don't need LOOT. This holds true regardless of whether or not you use a machine-patcher to mitigate conflicts*, because Wrye Bash or its equivalents use your load order to decide which record components to patch when more than one mod try to edit the same record and they don't have an algorithmic rule to define it. If you're not going to manually patch your conflicts, then load order matters because it determines which mods "win" those conflicts. If you're going to manually patch all your conflicts (not machine-patching with Wrye Bash), plugin load order doesn't matter, except for making sure masters come before dependents and managing BSA load order. The answer to your question relates to how much effort you're going to put into conflict resolution. I'm using zims immersive artifacts and Legend of the dragonborn and for some reason I'm not getting any thane weapon upon completion of the quest and I have the necessary patches to make them compatible, if anyone can offer any help I'd be grateful, also could loot potentially fix this? Although right now there is another small issue I could use some help with. I've decided that loot would be very helpful and I'm going to download it just not right now, once I finish my current playthrough I will though. Update : First I just want to thank everyone for their advice, information and any links they sent, they were all very helpful and I'm grateful for them. The last dozen mods I've downloaded I didn't know where to place in my load order so I've left them where they are for the time being and I've had no issues, so would after downloading the mods mentioned above be a good time to download LOOT? I'm also a little confused on LOOT's installation process, thanks in advance. My load order as far as I know is okay I don't seem to have any obvious issues but I've seen a few people here say loot is a must have and some say it can cause problems to load orders. So I have 147 mods currently installed in Mod Organizer, I plan on adding a few new mods, Mysticism, Skyrim Revamped - complete enemy overhaul as well as Skyrim Revamped - loot and encounter zones.
